Our Story

The Emerald Foundation

Forget-me-not Children’s Center, Inc. (DBA The Emerald Foundation) is a non-profit

organization that provides behavioral and mental health services to rural communities in

Western Kentucky. We also provide wellness services in Western Kentucky, Western Tennessee, and the Greater Nashville area.

Emerald Foundation originated from 20 year old non-profit Forget-Me- Not Children’s Center.  Forget-Me-Not Children’s Center was founded in Marshall County, KY and served children ages 3-18 years old who had been victims of abuse or witnessed domestic violence. It was funded by donations and various grants including Victim’s of Crime Act (VOCA). In 2015, the name changed to reflect the expanded mission to serve children, teens, and adults who were struggling with abuse, addiction, suicide issues, and trauma.

Support from companies, individuals, and grants enable The Emerald Foundation to provide behavioral health needs to rural and impoverished communities.

How We Receive Funding To Operate

We are able to receive monetary donations as a 501 C 3 non-profit.

  • Local, regional, and state grants.
  • For a fee, we provide training, host conferences, and speak to companies, businesses, schools, churches and other organizations.
  • For a fee, we develop and offer wellness programs for organizations.

As a non-profit foundation we pride ourselves on being as financially sustainable as possible and at the same time diligently working to provide behavioral health and wellness services to client’s who can not afford the services that they need.  A portion of all revenue goes back to help provide care to those clients who do not have the resources to pay for behavioral and mental health services.
